Rachel Healing Willow

Rachel is the newest member of the No Loose Braids core team, bringing a wealth of administrative skills and a passionate commitment to the organization's mission. She believes deeply in the importance of preserving and passing down Indigenous practices, and is dedicated to helping NLB continue its vital work in the community.

As a wife, mother of two boys—Myles, Quiet Oak, and Brodie, Snowy Owl—and respected matriarch within her community, Rachel embodies compassion and leadership. She is an Indigenous artist with a diverse portfolio that includes painting, seamstress work, and regalia making. Her art has been featured in prominent exhibitions, including the Winged Foot Project at the Boston Marathon and an upcoming exhibit at Smith College in the fall.

Rachel is also pursuing a nursing degree at Massachusetts Bay Community College, aiming to blend her artistic talents with her healthcare aspirations. Behind the scenes at No Loose Braids, she is dedicated to supporting the team’s efforts and ensuring the organization’s future success. Rachel’s vision is for every person who engages with NLB's workshops and events to leave not only inspired but motivated to share their experience and encourage others to get involved.

Rachel's commitment to community, family, and cultural preservation drives everything she does, and she is excited to contribute to No Loose Braids’ continued growth and impact.
